Become a Volunteer Crisis Counselor.

It's time for you to fulfill that strong need within yourself to change the world a little bit.  By doing so, you'll be joining one of the greatest volunteer programs in the universe.

Volunteer Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Advocates provide crisis counseling, emotional support and advocacy to survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence who seek treatment in the Emergency Departments of Mount Sinai West and St. Luke's, and Lenox Health Greenwich Village.  All it takes is a comprehensive 40-hour training (provided by us), two 12-hour shifts per month, and a willingness to do a whole lot of good.

The 2017 training will take place:

  • Thursday, October 5, 6-9pm

  • Saturday, October 7, 8am-5pm

  • Sunday, October 8, 8am-5pm

  • Saturday, October 14, 8am-5pm

  • Sunday, October 15, 8am-5pm

You must be:

  • over 18 years of age
  • able to arrive at MS WestMS St. Luke's, and LHGV within 20 minutes in a cab
  • able to commit to being on-call for two 12-hour shifts per month
  • able to commit to the program for at least one year if accepted
  • able to attend all training dates above
