Out of respect for those most vulnerable in our community, and in recognition of the proven efficacy of social distancing in the prevention of COVID-19, our physical office remains closed. the policies below will remain in effect until we can safely resume in-person services. We will keep this page updated, and you are always welcome to call us at 212-523-4728 for more information.

All of our services will continue to be offered remotely, via telephone and video conference. If you need support, please do not hesitate to call us during regular business hours (9-5). We remain here to help. Our legal helpline also remains available, and can be reached by calling 212-683-0605 during business hours. We have set up times to provide same-day crisis counseling if you just need to connect with someone who can provide emotional support over the phone. So even if we don’t have the capacity to engage you fully in ongoing therapy, we can still provide direct support and a connection to other services.

We are slowly scheduling new intakes

In an effort to best serve our community in this new landscape, we have updated and adapted our intake process. We remain committed to prioritizing individuals who are uninsured, or unable to pay for services. Thus, if you have insurance and are not in immediate crisis, we may work with you to find the most appropriate and trusted referral. Starting the week of July 13, we’ll begin conducting new intake assessments with very limited capacity. When you call us to make an appointment, you’ll be asked for some basic information, and if we feel like we may be the best place to help, we’ll schedule you for a short initial assessment call with one of our clinicians. From there we’ll work to provide you with or connect you with the best care possible given your individual needs. If we believe we may be the best place to meet your needs, we’ll schedule you for a more in-depth intake appointment to be done via Zoom.

Remote support continues in our partner EDs

Out of respect for everyone’s safety, our Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Advocates will continue to provide remote support at our partner Emergency Departments, over the phone and via video conference. ED staff have been trained on how to connect survivors with an Advocate, and written instructions are posted in appropriate ED areas. Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners continue to respond in-person to provide medical care to survivors of sexual assault.

We’re happy to offer remote partner training

While in-person training facilitation remains suspended, CVTC will work to accommodate requests for remote training offered via Zoom. If your organization is in need of training, please email us and we’ll connect you to the appropriate staff person.
