PREVENTION TRAINING

CVTC’s Prevention Program offers engaging and impactful programs designed to change culture and help communities effectively prevent and respond to violence. But here's the thing: We can't do it alone. We believe that true change happens when we partner with the communities we serve. That's why community engagement is such a vital part of our mission.

Through education, training, and carefully-crafted interventions, we address and disrupt the root causes of violence, in-community. Our core values of cultural humility, inclusion, and equity shape our community-driven approach, which centers those with the greatest need and the least access to support. We believe that through collective, coordinated action and care, we can turn our shared vision of safer, more equitable communities into a reality.

Seeds of Hope Program (SHP)

Our Seeds of Hope Program offers a variety of school-based programs designed for K-12 students. Each of our 4 age-appropriate and inclusive curricula address 4 key content areas: Cultivating Positive Identity, Building Healthy Relationships, Bystander Intervention, and Leading for Change. These interactive, experiential, and highly customizable curricula will inspire students and equip them with tools to be leaders in creating safer, more inclusive communities for themselves and others. Trauma-Informed Schools

Our Trauma-Informed Schools initiative offers education professionals tools, training, and resources to create safer, more supportive school communities that are better equipped to support the needs of individuals impacted by trauma. We provide single and multi-session education and training options, as well as tools to assess and implement trauma-informed practices and create more supportive school and classroom environments.

 Enough is Enough Campus Program

Enough Is Enough (EiE) is an initiative funded by the NY State Governor’s Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, and it allows rape crisis programs in New York State to provide free support to colleges and universities to prevent and respond to domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence.

Together, with a diverse team of students, faculty, and staff at each campus, we provide education and training, implement awareness campaigns and events, and provide a coordinated community response to sexual, domestic, and gender-based violence. This can include activities such as training all Freshmen in sexual violence and/or bystander intervention, Domestic Violence Awareness Month Campaign design and implementation, and developing trauma-informed policies, protocols, and practices with campus administration to support students impacted by violence. We regularly collaborate with Campus Counselors, Title IX Offices, Student Activities, Athletics, Greek Letter Organizations, Residence Life, Public Safety & Law Enforcement, and any student or student organization that is interested in partnering to create a safer campus community.

Check out our Campus Menu of Options to learn more about how we collaborate to create safer, healthier campus communities.

In addition to our primary programs, we offer a wide range of education, training, and community engagement opportunities to any individual, workplace, company, community-based organization, or coalition interested in creating safer, healthier communities. Some of our more popular requests include training on Sexual Harassment, Trauma-Informed Work Environments, Facilitating Change, and Engaging Men and Boys in Ending Violence. We would also love to collaborate to organize awareness-raising campaigns and events that engage the folks in your organizations and communities. Whatever collaboration looks like to you, we are here to offer a helping hand through comprehensive programming and support custom-fit to serve your unique needs.
